Division 5, 7th Coast Guard District

Guardians of the Treasure and Gold Coasts

Welcome to Division 5 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary's Seventh District. The Division is comprised of 7 Flotillas which serve the Treasure and Gold Coasts of  southeastern Florida. Our Area of Responsibility (AOR) extends from Delray and Boynton Beach in the south to Sebastian and Vero Beach in the north and extends westward to and includes Lake Okeechobee as well. By county, we cover Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River Counties.

The more than 400 members of Division 5 work with and support Coast Guard Stations Fort Pierce and Lake Worth Inlet of Sector Miami, performing many functions at the stations, such as public radio watchstanding, maintenance, and administration. Our members also directly support Aids to Navigation Team Fort Pierce and Marine Safety Detachment Lake Worth, both at their facilities as well as in the field. They also directly support Coast Guard Sector Miami, Air Station Miami, and the Seventh District Headquarters.

All of these duties are in addition to the thousands of man-hours spent in the more traditional Coast Guard Auxiliary functions of teaching boating safety courses and conducting vessel safe routine on-water patrols, Search and Rescue (SAR), marine safety and environmental protection presentations, and maritime domain awareness operations. These operations are conducted shoreside, on the road in Auxiliary vehicles, on the water in Auxiliary vessels, and in the air in Auxiliary aircraft, all of which are owned and supported (financially) by our members.

Some of our Flotillas meet at the Coast Guard stations, while some of them use municipal facilities, and some have their own building and radio facilities. Regardless of where they meet, all of our are deeply involved in and committed to supporting the US Coast Guard and the boating public of the Treasure and Gold Coasts. Gary and I are proud to lead this incredible group of motivated, dedicated volunteer Guardians.

Very Respectfully,

Division Commander
